The Nebula Awards are turning into a popularity contest, and this book shows it. I didn't like a single story. if you read "The Best Science Fiction Short Stories of 2012" you will get a better idea of what good science fiction is all about. Some of the stories are depressing, but all pull a strong emotional reaction. Also good are any of "The Year's Best Science Fiction" series.
